We are starting our 5G DIALOG series with the first edition in 2023 and are looking forward to exciting presentations about the potential of 5G in industrial environments.
The desire for increased flexibility in production and logistics goes hand in hand with a growing need for continuous positioning of mobile vehicles, products and materials. 5G meets this need by striving for a gradual improvement in positioning accuracy. In 2022, Fraunhofer IIS was able to perform the worldwide first RAT-dependent indoor localization with 5G using time difference of arrival measurements (TDOA).
In the online session 5G DIALOG, you have the chance to see a live demonstration of a 5G positioning with Uplink TDOA for industrial environments and to understand the technical boundaries. In the 5G testbed Industry 4.0 at Fraunhofer IIS, an open environment for testing specific use cases in industry and logistics, we are showing how a commercial UE and a driverless transport system can be located in an industrial environment and which further projects Fraunhofer IIS supports with its positioning algorithms.
