With the upcoming releases of 5G, the high requirements on positioning for Industry 4.0 applications can be met. Fraunhofer IIS advises and supports system developers, network and infrastructure providers and end users in implementing  solutions for positioning within a 5G networks. At the 5G Bavaria Testbed Industry 4.0 5G positioning can be tested and applied.

Reliable Communication with 5G – Thomas Heyn, Frank Burkhardt

Industrial applications require low latency while simultaneously asking for an extremely high level of reliability. Ultra-low latency of less than 1 millisecond has many advantages for machine-to-machine communication and for automated control. Fraunhofer IIS is developing 5G technologies that meet the high requirements of mobile communication in industrial applications. Communication solutions can be tested at the 5G Bavaria Testbed Industry 4.0.
